Solargrafica*Graz 2009 DVD

A series of Solargrafica* photographs and sound recordings were made in the city of Graz, Austria. Over the timeperiod Feb to July 2009, over 30 cameras were positioned in and around the city of Graz. Four photographs were selected and combined with processed field recordings using Realtime Granular Synthesis. The result is a videoinstallation named "Solargrafica*Graz 09", published on DVD (Pal Format).

Headbanghero will be presented at the [13th] Japan Media Arts Festival will be held from Wednesday February 3, 2010 to Sunday, February 14, 2010 at The National Art Center, Tokyo.

Works of art, animations, films, games, web works, manga and others selected from among 2,592 entries from 54 nations and regions will be exhibited in one hall. During the 11-day exhibition, symposia, presentations, workshops, the Leading Edge Technology Showcase and the exhibition of award-winning works from the Computer Graphics Contest for Students will also be held.

"Der Überflieger - Wearable Interfaces for spy pigeons" will be presented at the Amnesty International Human Rights Arts Festival.

"Headbang Hero" will be presented at the 5th Advances in Computer Entertainment Technology Conference. The conference will take place from oct. 29th - 31st in Athens, Greece. The focus of ACE 2009 is to gather researchers from academia and industry−researchers who are working in multi-disciplinary areas within the arts, psychology, computer science, and design to discuss, present, and demonstrate their new contributions. The goal of ACE is to stimulate discussion in the development and advancement of interactive art and entertainment applications. It, thus, strides to balance several interdisciplinary areas and seeks representation in all these areas.

The festival will take place from the 6th to the 11th October at L'hybride, The Palais des Beaux-Arts and the Théâtre Sébastopol. Extension of Human Sight will be shown at the VIDEO VORTEX CONFERENCE:

On 22-23 May, 2009 the fourth edition of Video Vortex will take place in Split, Croatia. The Department of Film and Video at the Academy of Arts University of Split and Platforma 9.81 will organize the event, in collaboration with the Institute of Network Cultures in Amsterdam. After previous events on online video and responses to YouTube in Brussels, Amsterdam and Ankara, this event will focus on the moving image on the Web.

The event opens on Thursday evening, with a lecture, screenings, the opening of the Video Vortex exhibition and a performance by artisty Emile Zile. The conference takes place on Friday and Saturday, and the closing party is on Saturday night.

TransCultural Exchange is an organization dedicated to promoting international art and the understanding of world cultures, through high quality art exhibitions, cultural exchanges and educational programs at our home base in Boston and throughout the world.
